New Format
The 2024-25 UEFA Champions League will introduce a new 36-team league phase format, replacing the current 32-team group stage. This expanded format aims to provide more opportunities for teams to qualify for the knockout rounds.
Swiss Model
Additionally, the tournament will adopt the "Swiss model," which is designed to increase the drama and uncertainty in the later stages. Under this system, teams will be seeded into four groups based on their performance in the league phase. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals.
Final
The final of the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League will be played at the Allianz Arena in Munich on May 31, 2025.
