Ferrari Takes Pole at Le Mans 24 Hours

Hyperpole Battle Decides Pole Positions

Over 100 Countries Tune In for Historic Race

Ferrari will take pole position for the 100th anniversary Le Mans 24 Hours this weekend after a thrilling Hyperpole battle on Thursday night. The Italian manufacturer's pair of 499P prototypes topped qualifying, with the number 52 car driven by Antonio Fuoco, Nicklas Nielsen, and Davide Rigon setting the fastest time.

The qualifying session saw the top eight cars in each class qualify for Hyperpole, which determined the pole positions for the race. Ferrari's pole position marks the first time since 2014 that a non-Toyota has taken top spot at Le Mans.

The event, which celebrates the centenary of the first Le Mans race in 1923, is set to attract a record-breaking audience. No fewer than 196 countries will offer TV coverage of the event, with an impressive 113 million viewers expected to tune in.
